A pedestrian died Sept. 8 after being hit by a vehicle on the 5600 block of Baltimore Drive, police say.
When officers from the La Mesa Police Department arrived on the scene, they found the pedestrian, a 61-year-old woman, lying in the roadway and unresponsive. She later died at a hospital.
The pedestrian was crossing the street from east to west outside of a marked crosswalk, according to police. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
